Sketching every day is continually important. Its never about being perfect but a place to record ideas, scribble a fleeting thought or capture an image that makes you think, remember, or generate an emotion be it a good or a bad one. It is often the images that you remember drawing or painting that evolve into further ideas a little later on in the day. For even though sketching seems a messy and jumbled affair there is something to be said for the order that may eventually evolve from it. A sketchbook is the thing that perfects that famous saying “hindsight is a wonderful thing”.
I am hoping that in the next few months I will be able to explain to you what I mean by this as my own artistic journey starts to evolve into a voice and style.
